CAGE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created to improve the quality of life in the Seven and Six Mile Communities located in Mount Pleasant, SC. However, this geographic area does not represent the limitations of our involvement. Members of the organization recognize that neighboring communities face the same issues that affect the Six and Seven Mile Communities. CAGE has expanded its efforts to include communities from Mount Pleasant to McClellanville, SC.

CAGE is an information magnet for the Community. The organization’s experience as well as the myriad of experiences of its members recognizes that access to accurate information in a timely manner is perhaps the key to creating and fostering a cohesive and productive community environment. CAGE provides access to information on topics to guide concerns among the citizens of the service area.

Citizens in the area contact CAGE for information regarding home improvement, recreational activities, educational opportunities, traffic and safety problems, environmental concerns such as sewage, drainage, preservation of existing community structures, county projects with potential environmental impact and community facilities.

CAGE is in the process of developing and building a Cultural Community Recreation Center. The vision of the center is to promote a healthy livable community with opportunities for physical activity as well as personal and cultural enrichment. Leadership

The Board of Directors and committees of CAGE come from a diverse group of business professionals with significant experience in many areas of business, community development, urban planning and more. This group is charged with the oversight of CAGE and all of its plans and activities. In addition, the board collaborates with legislative and advisory groups comprised of elected officials and those outside CAGE that have an interest in helping communities thrive. The board is responsible for overseeing the development and completion of the Cultural Community Recreational Center and serves to guide and offer assistance as needed in promoting and meeting CAGE goals.

The mission of CAGE is to provide access to information on topics of concern for the citizens such as home improvement, recreational activities, educational and economical opportunities, traffic and safety problems, environmental concerns, and preservation related to city and county projects.
Goals

The goals of CAGE contain four elements: First, to uphold the vision and mission of the organization with excellence. Secondly, to grow a membership base that is active and treasures the quality of life, needs and culture in our community and will participate in fostering a positive environment. Thirdly, CAGE commits to remain on task in the development and completion of the Cultural Community Recreational Center. The facility will function as the hub for economic growth of the organization and the community it serves. Fourthly, CAGE will engage donors, sponsors and seek grants to fund community events programs and the community center. Fundraising opportunities will be presented to area businesses corporations and philanthropist who want to further the good work of CAGE through their charitable donations. By consistently keeping these goals in the forefront, the board, members and supporters will advance the community in a profound way.
Monthly Meetings

The CAGE monthly meetings are held at Beacon Community Bank in the conference room on the first Thursday of the month. The meetings begin at 6:30pm.
